I Dammusi di Punta Karace

Holiday House in Pantelleria in the seaside

The Dammusi of Punta Karace are obtained from the renovation and expansion of an old agricultural complex, consisting of 9 Dammusi of various types (from 1 to 6 beds), sizes, and categories (some more simple and spartan, others more refined and sought after). The structure is divided into three blocks, in the first block there are the Mirto and Geranio Dammusi, in the second block the Ibiscus, Gardenia, Gelso and Ginestra Dammusi, in the third block, the highest one, there are the Melograno, Carrubb and Cycas Dammusi. The Dammusi of the three different sections are all different from each other in size, position, and furnishings, they are contiguous, but very independent. The property develops on terraces cultivated with olive trees and vineyards that slope towards the sea, and the houses are surrounded by lush gardens, with palms, bougainvillea, and succulent plants. From almost every corner of the property, there is a splendid view of the blue of the Mediterranean. The nearest town is called Kamma and can be reached by car in 5 minutes (about 4 km) or through a panoramic path that allows you to reach the village in a few minutes. The nearest access to the sea is Punta Karace (800m), which can also be reached on foot if you like to walk. Nearby are also the most beautiful and comfortable coves of Pantelleria, Gadir (2 km), famous for its thermal waters, Cala Tramontana, Cala Levante, and the Elephant Arch (2 km). In the area, there are also various restaurants (seasonal openings) the closest one "Il Princie e il Pirata" can also be reached on foot (500 m). Others in the area include the restaurant/bar "Le Cale", typical trattoria "La Favarotta". and others..

As a traveler at the service of those who travel, I have been working in this field since 1990. At first, I worked for myself, and then I worked for a local tour operator for 15 years and for hotel structures for another 3 years. For the past 5 years, I have been managing my own structures 100% and dedicating myself entirely to this. Throughout the years, I have never neglected my great passion for travel. Combining my more than twenty years of experience in hospitality, both in and out of hotels, with my passion for travel, I understand your needs well and know my duties as a manager. Choose experience and put your holidays in good hands!

Area Seaside

Pantelleria, which means "Daughter of the wind", is located between Africa and Europe. It is 67 km away from the Tunisian coast and 85 km from the Sicilian coast. It does not belong to any archipelago and is the largest among the "satellite islands" of Sicily, with an area of 83 sq km and a perimeter of 51.5 km.

Known as the "black pearl" of the Mediterranean, Pantelleria is a volcanic island. Despite the fact that the last eruption occurred in 1891 and it is now an extinct volcano, its geological life is still active with many secondary volcanic phenomena present, which contribute to its unique character. The highest point on the island is reached at the top of Montagna Grande, which is 863 meters above sea level.

Pantelleria is made up of acidic rocks rich in sodium materials, which are unique in the world and are only found on this island. They are called Pantellerites. By studying them, scientists have identified the period of the island's birth to be about 500,000 years ago, during the Tertiary era.

The island's territory owes its conformation not only to volcanic changes but also to the presence of man, who over the centuries has had to fight against the wind and drought. Terraces have been built for agriculture, with typical dry-stone walls and Pantesco gardens - real fortifications made of lava stone to protect citrus trees from the wind. For housing, there are Dammusi, special buildings with a domed ceiling, the first examples of Bio-climatic architecture for water collection and thermal insulation.
